Last Friday the 9th of May, the City of Busselton’s Yallingup Play Space took out the Playspace Award – $250k to $1M category at the 2014 WA Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) Awards for Excellence.

Designed by Josh Byrne & Associates and built by Earthcare Landscapes, the playspace is located on the foreshore of the iconic WA coastal town of Yallingup, overlooking the renowned ‘Yallingup Main Surf Break’. The coastal themed playspace complements its unique setting and encompasses a diverse array of bespoke playground equipment that caters for all ages.

The night was also a success for City of Fremantle with the Esplanade Youth Plaza taking out the Playspace Award – over $1m, an award proudly sponsored by Josh Byrne & Associates. Other winners on the night include the Department of Sports and Recreation/Department of Water for the Public Parkland & Design Guide, and the University of Western Australia’s School of Population Health for their Public Open Space (POS) Audit tool.

Congratulations to all the winners!
